Pianist Robin Kissinger has performed on major stages of the world in Budapest, London, Seoul and the United States. Along with playing much of the standard chamber music literature, she and her partner, cellist Mihaly Virizlay, premiered works by major composers written for them. She and Mihaly Virizlay made recordings for radio station WJHU, the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and for broadcast on Hungarian National Television.
Robin studied under Marilyn Neeley and graduated in 1982 with a Masters degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland. She then later did private study with Leon Fleisher and Radu Lupu. Robin has taught piano, coached chamber music and opera in colleges and universities for 26 years as well as having a private teaching studio for over 40 years. Her students ranged in ages from 4 to 75, beginner to advanced students who wanted to play for enjoyment, and those who wanted to develop professional skills. She has helped her students with sight-reading, technique, all kinds of repertoire, composition, ear-training, theory and learning to play from chord charts. Mostly she cares about what will help the individual student to grow in their love, skill and knowledge of music and the piano.
Chamber music and the world of beautiful classics have been her greatest love along with the wonderful vocal standards and ballads of the 30's and 40's. Robin moved to Monument in the summer of 2008 and hosted her own internet radio show, Sing4All on iRadio. She is passionate about bringing gorgeous piano and vocal music to audiences in casual settings or for corporate events and weddings.
Robin has recently been hired by St. Matthias Church in Monument, CO as their organist and choir director.
