Music was an integral part of Rebecca’s childhood. She was lucky enough to grow up immersed in music, inspired by the musicians in her family. With over twelve years of formally trained experience in music, her appreciation for it has only grown. She became involved in her church choir early in elementary school, and hasn’t been able to stop singing since. In 5th grade, she chose the violin as her instrument, and quickly advanced. The violin took her through school orchestras, community symphony orchestras, solo and ensemble contests, Continental League, pit orchestras for her school’s musicals, and much more. Rebecca also taught herself the piano, using the lesson books her mother used as a child for her guide. Though under no instructor, she would spend several days a week playing through her family’s piano music library.

After high school, Rebecca attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. There, she joined the vocal and instrumental ensembles to continue her musical journey. Though her major area of study at UCCS was English, she added a minor studying the theory, history, and performance of music. It is through this program she discovered a love of composing music, and hopes to continue perfecting this art. She graduated in May 2011.

Now, at age 22, Rebecca’s love of the various aspects of music has motivated her to spread this joy with others. She hopes to inspire others as she has been inspired, and enjoys helping kids grow to succeed in music and in life. In combination with her patience and dedication, this makes Rebecca a passionate and valuable music instructor.
