Curtis Schweitzer holds a Bachelors of Music degree from Biola University in La Mirada, California, where he majored in Theory and Composition in addition to studying piano and voice. As an active composer, he writes music for television and web media, including the television series "The Black Dawn", which is being syndicated both in the United States and in more than 20 countries internationally. Additionally, he has won numerous awards, including second place in the Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition and First Place in the annual Biola University Composer's Competition. As a composer, Curtis has extensive experience working with performers and instrumentalists. He has produced more than 30 scores for film and media in a wide variety of genres including classical, modern, and pop styles. His music has been played by numerous ensembles including the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Brethren Brass Quintet, and Shekinah, an all-female vocal ensemble.
Curtis has also performed with notable vocal ensembles, including the Biola University Chorale in La Mirada, California and the Colorado All-State Choir. He has studied piano under Lina Baranov and composition/theory under prestigious composers such as Neil Argo, Dr. John Browning, and Christopher Wills. His vocal teachers include Dr. Shawna Cross-Stewart, Susan Ali, and LeeAnn Fitzgibbons.
